OLD BUSINESS
Land Exchange/Community Property Project: Butch reported that letters had been sent out to community members affected by the Land Exchange by the USFS requesting comments on the proposed action. Comments will help determine the scope of analysis, and comments leading to environmental issues will assist in developing alternatives and analyzing environmental effects. The Township will send a letter with favorable comments regarding the scoping process of the Crane Lake Land Exchange.
CLWSD Report: Rob Scott provided a written report to the Board. The plant and collection system are operating within standards. The legal mediation with RLK is now tentatively scheduled for January. The work on the heat tape over the new culvert is being completed. All costs for this work will be covered by St. Louis County. The CSAH 24 expansion project is complete; however, there are some ongoing issues with the final pay estimate that could result in mediation between CLWSD and the contractor, USA. Rob will be asking for a supplemental grant of $40,000 at the Joint Powers Board meeting on Wednesday to cover costs over the expansion bid. The District received $250,000 in grant funds and the total project cost estimates are $290,000. A rate budget review was conducted and there will be a 3% rate increase for 2012.
Census Numbers: The Census Bureau has been contacted regarding a dispute of the number of people counted in Crane Lake during the 2010 Census.
