BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ MEETING
August 9, 2011
The August 12, 2011 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Pohlman at 7:50PM at the Crane Lake Chapel Fellowship Hall with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by those in attendance including: Supervisors Butch Eggen, Jim Janssen and Jerry Pohlman, Treasurer Terrie Hoff, Clerk Jo Ann Pohlman, and 2 members of the community.
BUSINESS
Additions to the Agenda: Hospital Board Report and 4th of July Barge were added to New Business
Minutes – A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jerry, to approve the minutes of the 7/12/2011 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Terrie read the July Cash Balances and presented the bills as follows: CLVTB – $9,797.76 and Payroll – $571.02. A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jerry, to approve the Treasurer’s Report as read and the payment of bills. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
The Clerk presented the correspondence. The correspondence was received as read and will be placed on file and acted upon as required.
OLD BUSINESS
Land Exchange/Community Property Project: There was no report.
CLWSD Report: There was no report
Assessment Services: All issues between St. Louis County and Township Assessor Jan Jackson are being resolved.
NEW BUSINESS
Orr Comprehensive Plan: The Board discussed the plan.
Office of the Legislative Auditor Survey: The Board completed the survey to be returned to the OLA.
Census Numbers: Motion by Butch, supported by Jerry, that the Clerk advise the Census Bureau that the number provided is less then the number of registered voters for Crane Lake. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Hospital Board Report: Shirley Sanborn provided information to the Board regarding their increased levy request for 2012.
July 4th Barge: Carl Anderson clarified his reason for not providing a barge for the fireworks. He did not have insurance and the wheel house is directly above gas tanks making an unsafe situation.
Other New Business: Jim Janssen reported that he had been asked if the Township had a dog ordinance. The Township does not have one at this time and recommended that issues be resolved between neighbors.
Comments from Officers: Terrie said that she would not be at the next meeting. Shirley Sanborn was thanked for the Hospital Board report and Carl Anderson was thanked for sharing his information on the barge.
