TOWN OF CRANE LAKE
BOARD OF APPEAL & EQUALIZATION MEETING
April 14, 2022
The April 14, 2022 Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting of the Town of Crane Lake was called to order by Chairman Jerry Pohlman at 1:04PM at the Crane Lake Chapel Fellowship Hall with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by those in attendance including: St. Louis County Assessors Beth Sokoloski and Todd Manninen; Supervisors Jim Janssen and Jerry Pohlman; Clerk Jo Ann Pohlman; and three appellants.
Treasurer Traci Bak was absent.
The purpose of the meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.
Dill, Drake-Cabins on Crane, Parcel Code 308-0270-00010. Appealed the increase in valuation as compared to those close-by. A motion was made by Jim, supported by Jerry, to follow County recommendation of no change due to all valuation increases in the area. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Klinefelter, Corey, Parcel Code 308-0030-03525. Appealed valuation as garage structure was removed. Assessor will review.
Klinefelter, Corey, Parcel Code 308-0240-00085. Appealed valuation of garage. Assessor will review.
Klinefelter, Corey, Parcel Code 308-0240-00030 & 00045. Appealed valuation of structures. Assessor will review.
Congdon, William, Parcel Codes: 308-0080-00406, 00400; 308-0030-03180, 03200, 03120. Appealed valuation on all. A motion was made by Jim, supported by Jerry, to follow County recommendation of no change due to all valuation increases in the area. All voted favor and the motion carried.
Janssen, James, Parcel Code 308-0080-00010. No Change. This is a Supervisor’s parcel and do not have a quorum to vote.
Roeller, Scott, Parcel Code 308-0030-05130. Appealed valuation due to acreage quality. A motion was made by Jerry, supported by Jim, to follow County recommendation of no change. All voted in favor and the motion carried. (Assessor reviewed again and Board addressed at 4/21/22 Reconvened meeting.)
A motion was made by Jim, supported by Jerry, to recess the meeting and reconvene on April 21, 2022 at 2PM for review of Klinefelter properties. Any new appeals will also be addressed at that time.
The Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting was recessed at 3:00PM.
