Effective Saturday, August 8, 2020, Portage Canister Site will be open Saturdays from 1pm – 5 pm and no longer open on Mondays. NEW SUMMER HOURS: STARTING AUGUST 8, 2020 April 15 through September 30 Sunday 3 pm to 6 pm Tuesday 2 pm to 6 pm Thursday 10 am to 1 pm Saturday 1 pm to 5 pm October 1 through April 14 Tuesday, Saturday 1 pm to 4:30 pm In addition to garbage, demolition material andmattresses/box springs at the current tipping fee rates, this site accepts the following wastes free of charge: used appliances (2 free per trip), fluorescent bulbs/CFL’s (6 free per trip), used motor oil, drained oil filters (6 free per trip), scrap metal, used tires (8 free per day), mixed paper recyclables, and recyclable food and beverage containers.
