TOWN OF CRANELAKE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ MEETING
July 8, 2014
The July 8, 2014 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Pohlman at 7:30PM at the Crane Lake Chapel Fellowship Hall with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by those in attendance including: Supervisors Butch Eggen and Jerry Pohlman, Treasurer Shannon Bibeau, and Clerk Jo Ann Pohlman.
Supervisor Jim Janssen was absent.
BUSINESS
Additions to the Agenda: There were none.
Minutes – A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jerry, to approve the minutes of the 6/10/14 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Shannon read the June Cash Balances and presented the bills as follows: Jo Ann Pohlman – $107.52; CL Sustainable Land Corp. – $200.00; Border State Bank – $1,286.46; CL Volunteer Fire Depart. – $25,000; IRS – $401. 93; CLVTB – $3,271.23 and Payroll – $669.90. A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jerry, to approve the Treasurer’s Report as read and the payment of bills. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
The Clerk presented the correspondence. The correspondence was received as read and will be placed on file and acted upon as required.
OLD BUSINESS
Land Exchange/Community Property Project: There was nothing new to report.
Jacque Eggen Memorial Fund: There was no report this month.
Crane Lake Road Repair: There was no report this month.
VNP-Visitor Center/Campsite: VNP Superintendent Mike Ward was unable to attend the July meeting. A Public Meeting will be planned for some time in the future.
Costin Group Report: There was no report this month.
NEW BUSINESS
Election Judge Appointments & Training: A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jerry, to approve the Clerk’s roster of recommended election judges for appointment for the Primary Election on August 12, 2014. All voted in favor and the motion carried. All judges will be trained prior to the Primary Elections.
St. Louis County Sheriff’s Volunteer Rescue Squad Donation: The Board decided not to make a donation.
Fireworks Donation Fund: The MAT legal staff will be asked how to handle donations for the fireworks.
Other New Business: Water Levels: The Township Board is seeking public opinion on water level control changes. Opinions should be directed to any of the Supervisors.
Comments from Officers: Jo Ann said that the Primary Elections will be held at the Fire Hall this year. Shannon said that many people commented on the very good fireworks this year.
Public Comments: There were none.
