RECONVENED BOARD OF APPEAL & EQUALIZATION MEETING
April 21, 2022
The April 21, 2022 Reconvened Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting of the Town of Crane Lake was called to order by Chairman Jerry Pohlman at 2:04PM at the Crane Lake Chapel Fellowship Hall with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by those in attendance including: St. Louis County Assessor Beth Sokoloski; Supervisors Jim Janssen and Jerry Pohlman; Clerk Jo Ann Pohlman; and two appellants.
New appeals were addressed.
Beste, Bruce, Parcel Codes 308-0150-00130, 00230. A change from Commercial to Short-Term Rental was requested. A motion was made by Jerry, supported by Jim, to change the property classifications on both parcel codes from commercial to short-term rental. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Sanborn, Jeffrey, Parcel Codes 308-0140-00090; 308-0030-03410, 03300, 03282, 03283; 308-0240-00011. Appealed valuation of each parcel. A motion was made by Jim, supported by Jerry, to follow County recommendation of no change due to all valuation increases in the area. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Roeller, Scott, Parcel Code 308-0030-05130. Upon further review by St. Louis County, an adjustment was recommended on valuation. A motion was made by Jerry, supported by Jim, to follow County recommendation to reduce the property valuation from $57,900.00 to $54,900.00, a reduction of $3,000, due to correction in acreage quality. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Klinefelter properties results after Assessor’s review:
Klinefelter, Corey, Parcel Code 308-0030-03525. A motion was made by Jim, supported by Jerry, to correct building valuations from $330,100.00 to $326,800.00, a reduction of $3,300.00 due to garage changes. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Klinefelter, Corey, Parcel Code 308-0030-03301. A motion was made by Jim, supported by Jerry, to change the building valuation from $80,700.00 to $68,800.00, a reduction of $11,900.00 due to no living quarters in garage, as previously thought. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Klinefelter, Corey, Parcel Code 308-0240-00085. A motion was made by Jerry, supported by Jim, to follow County recommendation of no change in building valuations. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
The Board of Appeal and Equalization Reconvened Meeting was adjourned at 3:00PM
