Chairman Jim Janssen explained that the purpose of the Special Board of Supervisors’ Meeting was for a final review and any necessary action related to the Braaten property land purchase.

Deena Congdon and Jim Janssen met with attorney Brian Lindsey and Tyler Lampalla of St. Louis County to discuss “Unit 13” or the lot with the house that is remaining in Braaten’s ownership.  Lake access will remain for that property.  It was agreed that the property that the Township is purchasing would remain as a CIC.  The Board agreed that all questions related to the land purchase were satisfied.

A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jerry, to approve the expenses for purchase of the Braaten property, as described in the purchase agreement, amounting to $978,505.35 – $950,000 from the LCCMR grant and the remainder from the Township Funds; $25,000 for land purchase and $3,505.35 in closing fees.  All voted in favor and the motion carried.

Jim Janssen and Jo Ann Pohlman planned to attend the closing on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 10AM at the Trenti Law Firm.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:15PM.
