Chairman Jim Jannsen explained that the purpose of the Special Board of Supervisors’ Meeting was to review the Land Purchase Agreement of the Braaten property known as Voyaguer Lakes Development, and formerly known as Borderland Resort.

The Board had requested property disclosures prior to signing the agreement.  Butch thanked the listing agent, Deena Congdon, for providing the information to satisfy the questions related to the property disclosures.

A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jim, to sign the Purchase Agreement between the Town of Crane Lake and Bob Braaten provided by the listing broker, Deena Congdon, of Re/Max-The Lake Country.  Discussion followed regarding the commitment/lack of commitment of the VNP to use the property for the visitor center.  Gary Cerkvenik assured the Township via email that the property could be used for “other public use” should the VNP back out.  The appraisal review, required by the DNR, was discussed with the expected appraisal review being presented to the Board by 12/8/17.   Funding of the related costs to the land purchase was discussed with a possibility of a levy increase being needed. All voted in favor and the motion carried.

Both Butch and Bill Congdon thanked Jim Janssen for his work as the Project Manager of the project and for the work he will need to do in the future.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:35PM.
