TOWN OF CRANE LAKE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ MEETING
November 12, 2020
The November 12, 2020 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Pohlman at 5:35PM at the Crane Lake Chapel Fellowship Hall with those in attendance including: Supervisors Kara Knutson and Jerry Pohlman; Treasurer Traci Bak; and Clerk Jo Ann Pohlman. Supervisor Jim Janssen was absent.
BUSINESS
Additions to the Agenda: CLWSD Board of Managers Appointment Notice was added to New Business.
Minutes – A motion was made by Kara, supported by Jerry, to approve the minutes of the10/13/20 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report –The October Cash Balances were read and the bills were presented as follows: Costin Group – $1,250.00; Lake Country Power – $146.56; Debora Scott – $154.00; Jill Crain – $154.00; Shannon Bibeau – $147.00; Cook News-Herald – $147.00; Postmaster – $55.00; Lutefisk Tech. – $1,230.40 & $275.40; Premier Pyrotechnics – $8,500.00; CLVTB -$18,029.53; and Payroll – $859.13. A motion was made by Jerry, supported by Kara, to approve the Treasurer’s Report as read and the payment of bills. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
The Clerk presented the correspondence. The correspondence was received as read and will be placed on file and acted upon as required.
OLD BUSINESS
Costin Group Report: There was no report
VNP-Visitor Center/Campsite:
Committee Report: There was no report from the Committee. Fiscal capacity issues are being discussed in preparation of the anticipated receipt of MN Environment and Natural Resources Trust Funds (ENRTF).
Grounds Clean-up: No Report.
Docks: No Report.
CIC Covenants/Unit 13: Another email will be sent to the Shucks requesting their input on the draft updated document of the CIC covenants provided by the Township’s attorney.
ATV Use: There was no report. There was a meeting yesterday at the Echo Trail Tavern.
Trails Report: There was no report.
Land Use Project: Because the community is so involved in developing the Visitor Center/Campground area, the development of the Land Exchange area will be addressed later.
IRRRB Voyageur Statue Work: There was no report. The restroom facility has been placed at the site.
Scott’s Seaplane Base: An email received from Kaci Nowicki of S.E.H. said the Township’s January meeting date would be a good time to meet to update the community on the most recent report. MnDOT and County representatives would also attend. The meeting date will be confirmed with Kaci.
Neighborhood Watch Report: There has been no new activity in the area.
Handberg Road Public Water Access – The County Board will review the Township’s request for signage at either their November 10th or November 24th meeting.
Helipad Lease: The lease between the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation and the Town of Crane Lake has been signed. Helipad will remain on the Agenda for future updates.
Kicker Blvd. Annexation Hearing: The District is requesting the VNP Clean Waters Joint Powers Board to further review the annexation prior to considering a resolution to pursue the proposed annexation. The Township will do the same.

NEW BUSINESS
Fireworks: The Board approved pre-payment of the bill (above) to receive an additional 15% of product for the fireworks display on July 4, 2021. Premier Pyrotechnics will be forwarding a three-year agreement to the Township for approval at the December meeting, which will provide an additional 5% of product for the 2021 celebration.
CLWSD Board Manager Notice: A notice will be posted & published advising that there will be a Board Manager appointment at the December Township meeting.
